Same-day emergency dentist in Encino

A dental emergency is frightening and painful — and it never happens at a convenient time. At Farzad Dental on Ventura Blvd in Encino (91436), we keep same-day appointments open so patients across the San Fernando Valley can get out of pain fast.

Led by Dr. Philip Farzad, a USC-trained dentist who has cared for Encino families since 1998, our team is equipped to diagnose and treat urgent problems in a single visit whenever possible. From a cracked molar to a knocked-out front tooth or a painful abscess, we use digital X-rays and 3D imaging to pinpoint the problem quickly, then walk you through your options in plain language before we begin.

Because we are right on the Ventura Blvd corridor, we are minutes from Encino, Tarzana, Sherman Oaks, Studio City and Van Nuys — and if you are closer to the Antelope Valley, our Palmdale office can help too. You do not need to be an existing patient; new and existing patients alike are welcome for urgent care.

Don’t wait it out Emergencies we treat today

Severe toothache

Throbbing or constant pain often signals decay, infection or a cracked tooth that needs prompt care.

Knocked-out tooth

Fast action saves teeth. Keep it moist and come in within the hour for the best chance of re-implantation.

Chipped or broken tooth

We smooth, bond, crown or rebuild damaged teeth — often the same day with CEREC.

Lost filling or crown

An exposed tooth is vulnerable and sensitive. We re-seat or replace the restoration quickly.

Swelling or abscess

Facial or gum swelling can mean infection. This needs urgent attention to protect your health.

Soft-tissue injury

Cuts to the lips, cheeks, gums or tongue — we clean, treat and advise on healing.

Before you reach us What to do right now

Control the pain

Rinse with warm salt water and take over-the-counter pain relief as directed. Avoid placing aspirin directly on the gum.

Manage bleeding & swelling

Apply gentle pressure with clean gauze for bleeding, and use a cold compress on the outside of the cheek to reduce swelling.

Protect a knocked-out tooth

Handle it by the crown, keep it moist in milk or saliva, and bring it with you — time matters most here.

Call us right away

Phone (818) 905-7787 so we can prepare for your arrival and give you first-aid guidance over the phone.

Good questions Emergency dentistry FAQs

Are you open for dental emergencies today?
In most cases, yes. We hold same-day appointments open at our Encino office on Ventura Blvd specifically for urgent problems. Call (818) 905-7787 during office hours, or our emergency line at (818) 905-7787, and we will do everything we can to see you the same day.
What counts as a dental emergency?
Severe or throbbing tooth pain, a knocked-out or loose tooth, a cracked or broken tooth, a lost filling or crown, swelling of the gums or face, bleeding that will not stop, or an injury to the lips, cheeks or tongue. If you are unsure, call us and we will help you decide how quickly you need to be seen.
My tooth was knocked out — what should I do right now?
Pick the tooth up by the crown (the white part), not the root. If it is dirty, rinse it gently with water without scrubbing. If you can, place it back in the socket; if not, keep it in a cup of milk or your own saliva and get to our Encino office within 30 to 60 minutes for the best chance of saving it.
How much does an emergency dental visit cost?
It depends on the treatment you need, which we will always explain before we begin. We accept most PPO insurance and Denti-Cal, and we offer CareCredit financing so you can get out of pain now and spread the cost over time.
Do you treat patients who aren't already with your practice?
Absolutely. You do not need to be an existing patient to be seen for an emergency. New patients are welcome at both our Encino (91436) and Palmdale offices.
What should I do if I have a dental emergency after hours?
Call our emergency line at (818) 905-7787. Leave a message describing what is happening and we will get back to you with guidance and the earliest possible appointment.
