Modern, precise, comfortable Dental Technology

Advanced technology lets us diagnose accurately and treat gently — often faster, quieter and with less discomfort.

Advanced dental technology in Encino

Great dentistry starts with seeing clearly and treating precisely. At Farzad Dental in Encino, Dr. Philip Farzad has built a practice around modern technology that makes your visit faster, more comfortable, and more accurate — from 3D imaging that catches problems film would miss to lasers that let us treat many things with little or no anesthesia. The result is care that feels lighter and gets more done in less time.

Diagnosis is where good treatment begins, so we invest heavily in imaging. Our CBCT (cone beam CT) scanner captures detailed 3D views of your teeth, jaw, nerves and bone in a single quick scan, which is invaluable for planning implants and oral surgery, locating impacted teeth, and evaluating TMJ concerns. Alongside it, our digital X-rays produce instant images with far less radiation than traditional film, display up to 256 shades of grey (versus about 25 with film) so subtle issues stand out, and store securely in your chart. Together these tools let Dr. Farzad see exactly what's happening before we ever recommend a treatment.

Once we know what a tooth needs, technology helps us fix it in fewer trips to our office at 16661 Ventura Blvd, Suite 815 (91436). With CEREC, we design and mill custom crowns, veneers and restorations right in the office using digital impressions and 3D modeling, so many patients walk out with a permanent restoration in a single visit — no goopy molds, no temporaries, and no second appointment. Our iTero intraoral scanner captures quick, precise 3D scans for crowns, veneers, implants and orthodontics, replacing messy impression trays with a comfortable digital wand.

Comfort is a technology story too. Our Solea laser allows many procedures to be performed virtually pain-free and often drill-free, with minimal noise and vibration and frequently no anesthesia at all — a game changer for anxious patients and busy schedules. Our BIOLASE Epic X laser handles soft-tissue procedures, pain therapy and whitening while reducing bleeding, swelling and recovery time. For patients across Encino, Sherman Oaks, Tarzana and the San Fernando Valley, that often means treatment without the numb-lip afternoon.

Finally, we care about the air you breathe while you're in the chair. Our IQ Air medical-grade filtration system continuously purifies the treatment environment, removing airborne particles, bacteria and viruses so every appointment is cleaner and safer. This same standard of technology-forward, comfortable care extends to our second office in Palmdale, which serves the Antelope Valley — so whichever location is closer, you get precise diagnostics, single-visit convenience, and gentle, modern treatment.

Good questions Technology FAQs

Are digital X-rays safe?
Yes. Digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than traditional film while producing clearer images. They're a routine, low-dose part of diagnosis at our Encino office, and we only take the images we genuinely need to keep you healthy.
Can I really get a crown in one visit?
In most cases, yes. With CEREC we take a digital impression, design your crown or veneer on screen, and mill it in-office the same day. That means no temporary crown, no second appointment, and often no return trip across the San Fernando Valley.
Does laser dentistry hurt?
Our Solea laser allows many procedures to be done virtually pain-free and often without any anesthesia, with minimal noise and vibration. Our BIOLASE laser reduces bleeding, swelling and recovery time for soft-tissue work. Most patients are surprised by how comfortable it is.
What is a CBCT scan used for?
CBCT captures a detailed 3D view of your teeth, jaw and bone in a single scan. Dr. Farzad uses it to plan implants and oral surgery, locate impacted teeth, and evaluate TMJ concerns with a level of accuracy standard X-rays can't provide.
Is this technology available at both offices?
We bring modern, technology-forward care to patients at both our Encino office at 16661 Ventura Blvd, Suite 815 (91436) and our Palmdale office serving the Antelope Valley. Ask our team which advanced options apply to your specific treatment.
